The vibrant energy of Ribeirinha’s celebration reached its final day yesterday, marking the conclusion of the Festa do Santíssimo Salvador do Mundo. This last day of the festival is always special, filled with traditions that bring a sense of closure and gratitude.

One of the most unique and heartwarming traditions involves the Ribeirinha Philharmonic Band. The second owner of the Golden Mermaid Villa had a deep connection to the community, and in a generous act of support, he donated the land next door to the band. To honor this gift, the band has a longstanding tradition of coming to the villa at the very end of the festival and playing a song as a thank you. It’s a beautiful, personal ceremony that serves as a musical farewell to the celebrations and a powerful reminder of the deep ties between our villa and the local community.

Throughout the festival, the town also becomes a showcase for local talent. A beloved stone artist from the area opened a pop-up store to display and sell his intricate wares, giving visitors a chance to take home a piece of Azorean craftsmanship.

Finally, the official end of the festival was marked with a spectacular fireworks show. The bursts of color and light in the night sky provided a fitting, celebratory conclusion to a week filled with music, dance, and community spirit. It was a perfect end to an unforgettable celebration.
